Liverpool Football Club Latest News: Expectations For The Season

As a game, soccer has got hundreds of millions of adherents all over the world. With different competitions in various countries, nothing quite beats the excitement of the English premier league. One of the clubs playing top flight soccer is Liverpool. If you are looking to catch up on Liverpool football club latest news, you are definitely in the right place.

Since the season got underway in August, half of the games have been played and there seems to be no clear contender for the number one position thus far. With a lengthy unbeaten streak, the Reds are currently second placed on the log. During its most recent game, away against Southampton, the team managed to salvage a goalless draw.

However, the mood at Anfield is still upbeat, with both fans and players looking towards the next home match against Sunderland with a sense of expectation. With his aim on the top prize, the manager has hinted at dropping players who show complacency as the season stretches past the halfway mark. Like other clubs currently occupying the remaining top four slots, Liverpool is considered a real title contender by well known pundits.

As it stands, the club features international stars like Philippe Coutinho of Brazil and Sadio Mane of Senegal. Even then, the manager still plans to bring in new additions early next year. Mr. Jurgen Klopp, the manager, has never been shy of his admiration for a number of players in Europe.

One player known to be among his primary targets is Ante Coric, a nineteen year old Croatia international who features for Dynamo Zagreb. The manager may have to do everything in his power to ensure the player does not get picked up by rival clubs Everton and Tottenham Hotspurs. Reports indicate that Dynamo Zagreb plan to let him go once the lid is lifted on the transfer window come January.

With Liverpool out of the European Champions League this season, the team has its work cut out for it to win the English Premier League. Few midweek competitions will mean players will be in great form over the coming weekends to take on other teams already competing in the tournament. Renovations are also ongoing on the facilities at the stadium. The management is looking at increasing the capacity of Anfield Stadium to draw more spectators and make more money from ticket sales.

The stadium has got different sections, with each section being independently modified. For the design of the main stand, the management team occasionally asks for some input from senior players and the coach. According to the CEO, renovation works may head well into next year. Besides the new stands, there will also be new media facilities and changing rooms.

It is still too early to tell what the outcome will be at the end of the season. However, one thing is for sure. Based on history and recent league statistics, the reds will definitely giver other top tier teams a run for their money.
