Autism has become very common especially in the modern day and age whereby children are born with great struggles in developing relationships and even communicating. It is regarded a mental condition that manifests as early as when the child starts developing and such children have trouble understanding other peoples thoughts and behaviors as well as expressing themselves in social places. Therapies are meant to increase the abilities and the skills of the persons suffering from the condition by reducing the symptoms. This disorder is a lifelong condition therefore, it is significant that the persons affected go through a continuous therapy to improve their abilities. In as much as the person continuously improves his or her verbal communication and interaction it is important to continue with the therapy even if it means once in a while therapy sessions.

It is evident that when an infant is developing he or she indulges in the give and take of everyday human interfaces, for example grasping of a finger, turning toward voices and smiling at faces. Nonetheless, this is totally different with children having the disorder as they have difficulties in engaging in such activities. They fail to respond to their names, do not imitate the actions of others and prefer to play alone when they reach the toddlerhood age.

Children having the disorder also prefer to stay with their parents or the person who is always close to them. The social world may seem confusing for these children or persons suffering from the disorder as the ability to interpret gestures and facial expressions becomes difficult. They also have a problem of regulating their feelings as they do not understand other peoples thoughts and behaviors.

In this account it is imperative to note that there is no standard cause of the condition that has been established. Exactly why the disorder occurs is not yet distinct however, some researchers propose that it may arise from defects in the brain that interpret sensual response and process language. This disorder is mostly associated with the brain thus reflecting onto behavior and interactions as well as communication.

It is the duty of a behavior analyst who is certified by a board to write, implement and monitor the childs specialized curriculum. The analyst may not necessarily work with the child directly but can monitor the childs progress through a trainer who is on the ground or a therapy. The therapist work with the written program and ensure that they implement the curriculum step by step.

In this account it is evident that the causes of the disorder are diverse and as mentioned above there is no one standard cause. Children develop this disorder and through different therapies they are able to improve their communication skills, interactions in addition to their behaviors. Autistic children are known to have a repetitive behavior based on what they have acquired and thus through the therapies they can acquire different and diverse behaviors.

It is important to note that there are other medical disorders associated with the disorder whereby therapy cannot work. Seizure disorders such as epilepsy is common to people with the condition. Sleep problems are also common among adolescents with the disorder this also affects adults.
